Ingredients for 6 servings:
1. 1 1/2 quarts chicken broth
2. 1 1/2 lbs lamb stew meat, cubed
3. 1 quart water
4. 1 1/2 cups sliced onions
5. 1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
6. 1 1/2 cups sliced turnips
7. 1 cup sliced celery
8. 1 tablespoon minced garlic
9. 1 teaspoon dried oregano
10. 1 teaspoon rosemary
11. 1 bay leaf
12. 1/2 cup dry white wine
13. 1/2 cup quick-cooking barley
14. salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except barley, salt and pepper in slow cooker; cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, adding barley during the last 20 minutes.
2. Discard bay leaf. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
