Ingredients for 6 servings:
1. 2 lbs lamb, cubed
2. 1/2 teaspoon sugar
3. 2 tablespoons oil
4. 2 teaspoons salt
5. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
6. 1/4 cup flour
7. 2 cups water
8. 3/4 cup red wine
9. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
10. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
11. 6 -8 carrots, sliced
12. 4 small onions, quartered
13. 4 celery ribs, sliced
14. 3 medium potatoes, diced
Directions:
1. Sprinkle lamb with sugar. Brown in oil in skillet.
2. Remove lamb and place in slow cooker, reserving drippings. Stir in salt, pepper, and flour into drippings until smooth. Stir in water and wine, until smooth, stirring until broth simmers and thickens.
3. Pour into cooker. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well mixed.
4. Cover. Cook on low 8-10 hours.
5. Serve with crusty bread.
