Ingredients for 4 servings:
1. 2 tablespoons olive oil
2. 1 onion, chopped
3. 3 garlic cloves, chopped
4. 2 lbs ground beef
5. 6 ounces tomato paste
6. 15 ounces tomato sauce
7. 14 ounces crushed tomatoes
8. 2 tablespoons oregano
9. 2 tablespoons basil
10. 1/3 cup red wine
11. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
12. 2 tablespoons sugar
13. 2 (4 1/2 ounce) cans mushrooms
14. 3 bay leaves
15. 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
Directions:
1. in a large pot heat olive oil.
2. add onions and simmer on medium heat.
3. stir in garlic.
4. add red wine and saute.
5. in a seperate frying pan cook ground beef until no longer pink. drain.
6. add ground beef to pot.
7. add rest of ingredients, bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 hours.
