Ingredients for 6 servings:
1. 3 stalks celery, sliced
2. 3 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
3. 1 large onion, chopped
4. 2 (32 ounce) cans beef broth
5. 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
6. 1 cup marinara sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce)
7. 2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning
8. 3/4 cup small shell pasta
9. prepared basil pesto
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients except pasta and pesto in a large stockpot. Bring to a boil;.cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add pasta and cook uncovered, for 15.minutes longer. Spoon into large bowls and swirl a teaspoon. of pesto into each.
