Ingredients for 8 servings:
1. 1/2 lb raw potatoes
2. 1/2 lb mashed potatoes
3. 1/2 lb plain flour
4. 1 tablespoon milk, more as needed
5. 1 egg
6. salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Grate raw potatoes and mix with the cooked mashed potatoes.
2. Add salt, pepper and flour.
3. Beat egg and add to mixture with just enough milk to make a batter that will drop from a spoon.
4. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a hot griddle or frying pan.
5. Cook over a moderate heat for 3-4 minutes on each side.
