Ingredients for 6 servings:
1. 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
2. 1 cup onion, chopped
3. 1 cup celery, sliced
4. 1 1/2 cups carrots, sliced
5. 2 cups cabbage, shredded (or potatoes)
6. 2 cups tomato juice
7. 2 (6 1/2 ounce) cans clams
8. 1 quart water
9. 1 teaspoon salt
10. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
11. 1 tablespoon dry mustard
12. 1 teaspoon dill seed
13. 1 cup sour cream
Directions:
1. Add vegetables to melted butter and sauté until tender, stirring occasionally.
2. Add tomato juice,clams, water, and seasonings.
3. Cook, covered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Add sour cream and mix well.
5. Heat through, but do not boil.
