Ingredients for 18 servings:
1. 1 cup butter (room temperature)
2. 1 cup brown sugar
3. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
4. 3/4 teaspoon salt
5. 2 large eggs (room temperature)
6. 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
7. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
8. 1/4 teaspoon butter flavor extract
9. 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
Directions:
1. Place the butter, brown sugar, granulated white sugar, and salt in the mixer and mix until completely incorporated together.
2. Add eggs, bean paste and extracts and mix until completely incorporated.
3. Add flour all at once and mix until completely blended. The dough will pull away from the sides of the bowl.
4. Separate the dough into two parts and roll each part between parchment paper. I roll mine 3/8 of an inch thick. You can roll however thick you want, but adjust the baking time if your cookies are rolled thinner than 3/8 of an inch.
5. Chill the rolled out dough in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 hours.
6. Choose a cookie cutter and cut out your cookies into the desired shapes and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and place that cookie sheet in the freezer for about 10 to 15 minutes.
7. Bake for 15 minutes in a 350 degree oven. You will know they are done when the gloss is gone off the top of the cookies.
8. Cool and eat plain or decorate with my awesome royal icing. It has a soft bite to it and an awesome taste.
Enjoy your meal!
