Ingredients for 4 servings:
1. 32 ounces sauerkraut, canned (2 cans)
2. 3 lbs spareribs, country style
3. 2 teaspoons paprika
4. 6 beef bouillon cubes
5. 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
6. 1/2 teaspoon pepper
7. 10 slices bacon, rolled in
8. flour
Directions:
1. Rinse and drain the sauerkraut.
2. Place sauerkraut in large 4-quart casserole.
3. Add 2 quarts hot water.
4. Add uncooked spareribs, paprika, bouillon cubes, caraway seeds, and pepper.
5. Cook covered, over low heat, 3 to 4 hours.
6. Fry floured bacon slices.
7. Break bacon into sauerkraut.
8. Remove bones from the sauce before serving.
9. Serve with dark bread and steins of beer.
