Cream Cheese „butter” Chicken

 

Ingredients for 4 servings:
1. 3 chicken breasts, chopped into chunks
2. 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
3. 1/2 onion, chopped
4. 2 tablespoons tomato paste
5. 1 teaspoon brown sugar
6. 1 teaspoon cumin, ground
7. 1 teaspoon turmeric
8. 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
9. 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
10. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
11. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
12. 4 ounces cream cheese
13. 2/3 cup broth
14. 1 tablespoon oil

Directions:
1. Preheat oil on medium-high in a large pan.
2. Add onions and ginger. Cook until onions are soft.
3. Mix together cumin, turmeric, chili pepper flakes, cardamom, cinnamon and pepper. Stir into onions and ginger.
4. Add tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
5. Add chicken and coat with mixture. Cook for 5 minutes.
6. Add brown sugar, cream cheese and broth and stir until cream cheese is melted inches.
7. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until sauce has thickened up and chicken is cooked through.
