Ingredients for 24 servings:
1. 1 cup butter or 1 cup vegetable shortening
2. 1 cup white sugar
3. 1 cup brown sugar
4. 2 large eggs
5. 2 1/2 cups white flour
6. 1 teaspoon salt
7. 1 teaspoon baking powder
8. 1 teaspoon baking soda
9. 1 1/2 cups quick oatmeal
10. 1 teaspoon vanilla
11. chopped nuts
Directions:
1. Cream sugars and shortening.
2. Add eggs.
3. Combine all the dry ingredients and add to mixture gradually, blending well.
4. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes.
