Ingredients for 12 servings:
1. 1/2 cup butter, softened
2. 1/2 cup shortening
3. 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
4. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
5. 3 eggs
6. 2 teaspoons vanilla
7. 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
8. 1 cup red white and green candy covered plain chocolate candies
9. 1 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375*. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and shortening with electric mixer on medium speed for 30 sec.
2. Add brown sugar, baking soda and ¼ tsp salt; beat until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, beating at a low speed just until combined.
4. Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop dough from rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 8-10 min or until golden. Cool for 1 min on cookie sheet, then transfer to wire racks. Cool. Makes 12 (5 diameter) cookies.
